James Douglas, Senior Transportation Consultant James Douglas has been very active in the transportation technology field for the past 25 years and brings a wealth of talent and skills to the IMS team. Some of his past tasks within FWL have included: Achievements • Grew the unit customer base and turnover from £2m to £5.7m (2003/4) exceeding revenue targets. • Personally account managed a three year deal with one customer (CMA CGM), £8m in total. • Created a management structure for the unit and developed staff into management / leadership roles using a coaching approach. • Created a dual delivery approach with a bespoke systems to global accounts and product/services to smaller regional customers. • Completed sales to large and strategic clients using a consultative approach. Three deals in excess of £500k in 2003/4 to companies within the top 200 freight and shipping organizations in the world. • Achieved recognition from Oracle as a strategic supplier of enterprise systems for transport providers. • Customers included CMA CGM, Yang Ming UK/ Europe, Samskip, Ocean African Container Line, Pacific International Line, China Shipping (North America), Nordana Line, Westwood Shipping Lines, Wallem Shipping, FT Everard (All live and active). Achievements • Established and managed agreements with a number of agents, including GEIS, Hitachi Data Systems, Sonu Software, IMS and Unisys Corporation. The agreements incorporated revenue targets and joint marketing activities. • Won new business (ERP software) with strategic customers in the freight and shipping market (including 10 deals in excess of £500k) introducing a consulting approach to the sales process. • Account managed the installation of the first customers in Asia/USA. • Supervised the migration of the freight/ transport products to Oracle web technology within the 12 month target window. • Acquisition of the assets of Anchor Marine International, involving 8 new software products and 5 members of staff. • Customers included UPS Logistics (Fritz Companies), OOCL Logistics (Cargo Systems), Maersk Logistics, MISC, Fred Olsen Line, Latvian Shipping Company, Danzas, PD Ports. | |
